Fermat's Last Theorem (FLT) is the assertion that the equation xn + yn = zn has no positive integer solutions for any integer n > 2. After mathematicians tried for several hundred years to prove this statement, Andrew Wiles finally proved FLT in 1995. In this seminar we will study some of the myth surrounding the conjecture, and some of the vast amount of beautiful mathematics that was motivated by attempts to prove FLT.
